MCM 2 BikeSwitcher v1.2 Help File

Note: Previous versions of BikeSwitcher allowed you to use SLT files for the bike models. This version does not. It requires special PKG files supplied from Twisted DIRT. This will allows us to provide increased functionality like having more than one model in a PKG, changing additional characteristics like textures, and providing identification information for future utilities like StartGate.

If you have an SLT that you would like created into a package please submit it to Twisted DIRT. E-Mail it to bruceatk@attbi.com.

Instructions

Start BikeSwitcher while MCM 2 is not running. When BikeSwitcher starts it will make a backup of your UI\UIRes.res, Res\bike.res, and Res\Engine.res. Once a backup has been made it won't do this anymore. It determines if there is a backup based on the presence of uires.bck, bike.bck, and engine.res. If you want to back out of any of the changes there are restore options under the file menu.

Be sure to close BikeSwitcher before starting MCM 2.

Plate Numbers:

You can change your plate number in MCM 2 by entering your plate number in the Plate Number edit box. You can optional disable the display of plate numbers by clicking on the "No Plate Number" check box. If you have set a plate number of zero this option doesn't not work.

Enable Special Items:

Clicking on the "Enable Special Items" button will do the following:

Bike Models:

This is undone by restoring BIKE.RES

You can pick from the list of available bike models. All models that start with "MCM2_" are the stock internal MCM 2 bike models. All others in the list are custom bike models. If a skin by the same name as the name in the drop down list exists in the MCM 2 bikes folder than that skin will be automatically selected.

Rider Models:

This is undone by restoring BIKE.RES

You can pick from the list of available rider models. All models that start with "MCM2_" are the stock internal MCM 2 rider models.

Sound Setups:

This is undone by restoring ENGINE.RES

This option lets you set 125 and 250 sounds to the sound of a 4-stroke. This changes the 16 bit sound only. If you have 8 bit sound selected you won't here the 4-stroke. You can quickly change between the 4-stroke and 2-stroke sound by switching from 8 bit to 16 bit sound while in MCM 2.

Custom Bike Models

This is the really fun stuff. Thanks to the combined efforts of Jeff (MCMNut), Laurie (mcm2boys), and myself (AMA_DirtTwister) we can now add custom bike models to MCM 2. This is done by placing a TD provided PKG file for the bike model in the MCM 2 Bikes folder. The same place you put bike skins. Once the PKG is there it will show up in BikeSwitcher and you will be able to select it. The new bike model will replace the User bike. This has a side effect of replacing the Yamaha, Generic, and Vector bike models. We are currently looking for ways to create a user model that is independent of the other models. You can get them here:

Package files for MCM 2

We aren't changing rider models yet, so the mini and mini80 look a little funny with the super tall rider standing on them.

Just unzip them into your bikes folder.
